PatternDiffuse non-nuclear staining is seen in the intestine from the 3-fold embryonic stage onwards. Staining in young larvae is very strong and extends from the pharyngeo-intestinal valve to the anus. Expression is less frequently observed, and is less extensive, in L4 larvae and adults. Although non-nuclear localised, staining is centred on sub-cellular foci, possibly in intestinal granules. This gene has homology to Na(+)/H(+) exchange proteins.
