    C. elegans fosmid from the Incyte Genomics Inc. fosmid library.

    This is an old fosmid library that was lost for quite some time. 29 of these fosmides were used in the C. elegans sequencing project to fill holes left in the Cosmid assembly.

    YAC

    Please submit all requests for C.elegans genomic clones via Sanger Clone Requests

    Details are then automatically forwarded to [mailto:team178g@sanger.ac.uk Sample Management]. Please do not send request directly to this address.

    Please remember to include a FedEx/DHL Account number to which we can charge the shipping cost. Note that the suffixes to YAC names (e.g. Y73B3A, Y73B3B) indicate sequenced segments of the YAC (Y73B3 in this case). They do not exist as subclones. You will be sent the whole YAC. --Alan Coulson, 2003

    About The Caenorhabditis Genetics Center

    The Caenorhabditis Genetics Center (the CGC) collects, maintains, and distributes stocks of C. elegans.

    The CGC is supported by the National Institutes of Health - National Center for Research Resources. The CGC has been in operation since 1978, first at the University of Missouri, Columbia and since 1992 at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

    Ann Rougvie is the director; Aric Daul is the curator.

    Searching For Strains

    WormBase maintains a list of strains available from the CGC, as well as those noted in the literature on our species' strain pages.
    See the C. elegans strain page here.
    Browse or download the full list of strains from the CGC directly.

    Ordering Strains

    Strains can be ordered directly from the CGC.
    guide to ordering strains for instructions.
    Access the order form here.

    Submitting Strains

    If you have strains you'd wish to share with the community, please submit them to the CGC.

    Acknowledging the CGC

    Please be certain to acknowledge the CGC to help ensure its continued existence.

    Wild Caenorhabditis strains and Non-Caenorhabditis species

    The CGC also maintains stocks of wild Caenorhabditis strains as well as some non-Caenorhabditis species.

    Gene Knockout Strains

    The following projects generate and provide strains that contain knock outs of individual genes.
    * Million Mutation Project
    * National Bioresource Project (Japan)
    * NemaGENETAG Mos insertions
