Three pairs of gels were analyzed and variance analysis of spot volume and comparisons of mean values of samples were performed using SAS statistical software, with a significance level of p < 0.05. More than 1.5-fold differentially expressed proteins were analyzed by MALDI-TOF MS. The results from MS were further analyzed using MASCOT. Proteins with a score exceeding more than 67 and expression levels more than 2.2-fold difference were selected proteins that showed decreased expression levels in worms grown in CS (Cholesterol Starvation) according to 2D-gel electrophoresis.
