lin-12(2in_490) transgene is expressed in neurons at the adult stage. (A) lin-12(2in_490) expression in adulthood. Almost no expression is seen in the head (only a single unidentified cell shows GFP fluorescence-the arrow). Few ventral cord neurons express the lin-12(2in_490) transgene in the middle and posterior body parts in these specimens. Neurons in the tail region also fail to express lin-12(2in_490).

F, expression in the pharynx GFP is observed throughout the muscle cells, parts of the excretory cell are also visible(arrowhead). G, expression in the excretory cell (white arrow) of an L2 larva. The canals are labeled. The animal shown in G did not show expression in the pharynx and was used for clarity.

Images were scanned at the same magnification (pixel size of 95 nm695 nm). Nuclei appear somewhat smaller after immunostaining for FIB-1 due to slight shrinking during acetone fixation (for DAO-5, samples were fixed with formaldehyde in 1X PBS). Bar: 5 um.
