Radio-labeled wt-pop formed a complex with POP-1180-280 (Fig. 6B, lane 2) This complex could be competed for with unlabeled wt-pop (Fig. 6B, lane 3) but not with mut-pop (Fig. 6B, lane 4), an oligo identical with wt-pop except for a 3-bp substi- tution in the putative core binding site (Fig. 6A), indicating that POP-1180-280 binds specifically to this sequence.
