Semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) data indicated that level of expression of
clec-60 mRNA appears to be upregulated during the initial stages of infection (up to 24 h), but, in a later stage of infections (36-72 h), it was downregulated. These results suggested that
clec-60 may participate in S. aureus recognition during early hours of exposures with C. elegans.
