In wild type, lin-32p::mRFP::unc-60A 3'UTR was intensely detected in every R(n).a + p. However, in plx-1 mutants, R(1).a + p, R(2).a + p and R(5).a + units displayed pronounced decreases in expression of mRFP.

blmp-1 : dre-1

In dre-1 partial loss-of-function mutants (e.g., dre- 1(dh99)) seam cells undergo precocious terminal differentiation in L3, a full stage ahead of schedule. Using the adherens junction marker ajm-1:gfp to mark seam cell boundaries, we observed that blmp-1 knockdown by RNAi reduced dre-1(dh99) precocious seam cell fusion from 90% to 15% of the animals. Similarly only 7.5% of dre-1;blmp-1(tm548) double mutant animals showed seam cell fusion in L3.

mec-2 : mec-3

Expression of mec-2-lacZ in the ALML/R, AVM, and PVM touch cells was greatly decreased (<5% of the cells stained); 67% of the PLML/R cells still stained in mec-3(u6).
