mod-1 : ser-1

mod-1(ok103) enhanced the male turning defects in ser-1(ok345) animals, hence mod-1;ser-1 mutant males performed fewer good turns compared with ser-1 alone. Mod-1 males do not have a turning defect on their own.

cki-1 : rnt-1

cki-1::GFP expression in rnt-1 mutants whose seam cells fail to divide in L1 is higher than in wild-type animals whose seam cells divide normally. In other words, division failure is correlated with increased cki-1::GFP expression. This is good evidence that rnt-1 normally acts during G1 of the cell cycle to promote cell division by somehow downregulating cki-1 expression.

lin-11 : lin-17

The analysis of the expression pattern of lin-11::GFP (syIs53) in lin-17(n671) animals showed a good correlation between the ectopic invagination of P7.p lineage cells (55%, n=53) and their altered pattern of lin-11::GFP expression (47%, n=36). In a wild-type animal at the Pn.pxx stage, syIs53 expression is typically detected in P5.ppx and P7.pax cells. However, in lin-17(n671) animals, the pattern of expression is defective in P7.p but not in P5.p progeny. The most frequent defect is a mirror image of the wild-type pattern in P7.p progeny. The other defect is either a graded or uniform distribution of GFP in all P7.p progeny. Very few worms had correctly localized GFP.
