jing interacting gene regulatory 1 (jigr1) encodes a nuclear protein that is differentially expressed in the embryonic central nervous system and highly expressed in neurons and glial cells in the larval nervous system. Its expression is downregulated in larval neuroblasts by the miR-92 family to maintain the neuroblast pool.
