bw [Search on AGR]
Drosophila melanogaster brown (bw) encodes a member of the traffic ATPase (or ABC) family of membrane transporters. It is believed to heterodimerize with the product of w. bw and w are necessary to import guanine, a precursor for the red pteridine pigments, into pigment cells of the eyes, Malpighian tubules and testis sheath.
drpr [Search on AGR]
Drosophila melanogaster draper (drpr) encodes a single-pass transmembrane receptor that is involved in phagocytosis by glia, macrophages, and epithelia. It signals downstream through the proteins encoded by Src42A and Shark to promote Rac1 function and transcriptional changes through the products of Jra and Stat92E. It is also required for activation of autophagy in salivary glands.
