Expression of gcy-19 was reported to be weak in both of ASE neurons (Ortiz et al., 2006), but here was observed ASER-biased expression in four independent transgenic lines.
Using immunofluorescence, we found that CEC-1 was nuclear and broadly expressed in the embryo, larval and adult animals. Although CEC-1 was suggested to be soma-specific (AGOSTONI et al. 1996), its transcript was detected in the oogenic germline by RNA-Seq (ORTIZ et al. 2014; BOECK et al. 2016). Consistent with these findings, while we do not observe CEC-1 in the distal germline, it is detected in proximal germ cells and oocytes, albeit at a lower level than somatic cells.
DAF-19A/B were expressed only in nonciliated neurons and not in ciliated sensory neurons. In summary, DAF-19A/B are expressed in 200 to 240 nonciliated neurons.
Expression in the alimentary canal: Strong and consistent expression in pm2, pm4, pm5, mc1, mc2. Weak or rare expression in pm3, pm6, pm7, pm8, K.a/K$(B!G(B cells.
The B+B enhancer (pOK17.13) activates frequent expression only in pharyngeal muscles m3, m4, m5 and m7, with occasional expression in m1. No expression has been observed in m6 or m2.
