Consistent with previous findings (Kim and Li, 2004), we found that flp-20 is expressed in the TRNs (ALM, AVM, PLM, PVM), along with a few other neurons (ASE, LUA, and PVC).
daf-18 message was present predominantly in the germline in larvae and adults (93%, n = 88). This is a specific signal not detected in the daf-18 deletion mutant (n = 89) or in glp-4(bn2) animals (n = 112), where little germline proliferation occurs.
DRAG-1::GFP was present in pharyngeal, hypodermal and intestinal cells. Robust expression in the M lineage was also detected from the 1-M to 4-M stage. DRAG-1::GFP signal was reduced (40%, n=20) or undetectable (60%, n=20) at the 8-M stage, and completely undetectable beyond the 8-M stage.
In support of a role of ARX-2 in Q cell corpse clearance, ARX-2::GFP was recruited onto Q cell corpses at 37 ± 9 min (mean ± SD; n = 20) after Q cell birth, and the ARX-2::GFP rings lasted for 19 ± 9 min (n = 20). The corpse was completely degraded 34 ± 18 min (n = 20) after the disappearance of ARX-2::GFP, which suggests that ARX-2 may function during the engulfment of Q cell corpses but may not be involved in the final degradation inside the phagosome.
