In the meiotic cells of the gonad including oocytes and in the interphase cells of 200-cell embryos, DNA topoisomerase I was localized in nuclei. At the comma stage, a more narrowed concentration of DNA topoisomerase I was observed in the nucleoli of gut cells.
Inspection of three independent che-12 pro::GFP transgenic lines showed that che-12 is expressed in only the subset of amphid neurons that lack wing- or finger-like ciliary extensions and in the two phasmid neurons.
GFP was shown to express in the excretory cells, coelomocytes, head neurons, hypodermal cells, and in the pharynx of C. elegans. This expression pattern was further confirmed by antibody staining using polyclonal antibodies against UCH/CeUBP130. Excretory cells were identified by the 'I-i' shape GFP expression in the head region). GFP was also shown to express in coelomocytes.
