As previously found (Bounoutas et al., 2009b; Sun et al., 2013), a mec-15::GFP translational reporter was expressed in the TRNs, several head and tail neurons, and ventral cord motor neurons.
Expression begins in early embryos and continues into young larval stages. In older embryos and young larvae extensive nuclear expression is seen in hypodermal cells. In young embryos mosaic nuclear-localised and diffuse expression is seen in a variable number of cells (from a few to most cells in the embryo).
Expression is confined to embryos and young larvae. In elongated embryos and young larvae diffuse expression is seen within the intestine. In pre-comma stage embryos a few nuclei (possibly intestinal precursors) show expression.
The cisd-1 (pnls27) animals showed GFP expression in the germline of L4 and young adults. The GFP expression was also observed in embryonic blastomeres, and the muscle and intestinal cells within larvae and young adults.
